Eye redness from irritated or inflamed blood vessels on the surface of the white part of the eye, commonly called bloodshot eyes. Eye redness can have causes include rubbing eyes, sleep deprivation, prolonged screen time, chlorine (from pools) or smoke exposure.
Using eye drops called artificial tears or eye drops containing an antihistamine may help to reduce redness. Avoid rubbing and touching the eyes. Wash your eyes with cold water.
