Professor Dr. Vijay Kumar Trehan has served in department of cardiology of GB Pant hospital of various posts including Director & H.O.D of Cardiology Department from 1990 to 2022. He has trained more than 200Cardiologist who are working at various posts in all over India & abroad.

He has been examiner for post doctoral (D.M) Cardio or fellowship in various premier top institute across the country like AIIMS, PGI, SGPGI, Shri Jayadeva Hospital etc for 20 years.

• He has run P.H.D Programme in Interventional Cardiology.

• He has been on the Board for selecting faculty (Professors) at Various prestigious institues like, AIIMS, SGPI, PGI Chandigarh and also on board of Indian FDA for regulating approval of several medical devices in the country.

• Has received several Awards by Government of India & the MCI for the development in the field of cardiology.

• Regularly delivering Guest Lectures at most of the National and international conferences & workshop.

• Have being performing live cases of Interventional Cardiology in national and international level workshops.

• His name is re corded in the LIMCA Book of world records.

He is pioneer and national figure in performing complex PTCA, specially Multivessel PTCA, Chronic total occlusions artery PTCA, highly calcified artery PTCA, complex PTCA in multiple morbid conditions, like severe LV Dysfunction, chronic kidney failure (with minimal Dye usage) and in patients refused for CABG because of high risk diffuse Triple Vessel Disease. He has been referred cases from all over India for complex cases.

He is also one of pioneer in India for non coronary interventions like Peripheral PTA, Carotid artery PTA, device closure of various congental diseases in adults & children, alcoholic septal ablation in HOCM.

He is one of best interventional cardiologist and is expert in using almost all modern technique used for complex PTCA like IVUS, OCT, Rotabation, FFR, IVL, orbitral athrectomy etc.

One of best recognized operator for balloon mitral valvotomy (Holder of world record in LIMCA book of records).

He is one of best learned teacher for all type of interventional & non interventional cardiac work training for staff, technician and undergraduates, post graduate, DNBS, DM, PHD and fellow cardiologist.
